Ostara Flower Pounding

  • Valley of the Moon Park 610 West 17th Avenue Anchorage, AK, 99501 United States (map)

Join us for another Spring flower activity near Ostara, also known as the Vernal Equinox! In this family-friendly exercise, we will use hammers to pound flowers onto cloth to create a natural design & set our intention. With this, the fabric represents our dormant selves & the flowers are the new beginnings of our lives, the same as they color the land. But we must work to imprint these intentions within us by hammering them onto the cloth!

Things to bring:

  1. The Plant - Inexpensive flowers, berries, leaves

  2. The Cloth - White/off-white cotton, white bandanas

  3. The Hammer - A flat-head hammer (no texture) is best

If you cannot bring one of these items, they will be supplied for you.

This activity's theme will follow our Imbolc activity (our community flower mandala) & precede our upcoming altar cloth workshop (TBA) to symbolize our working relationship with the seasons.
